Yesterday, Saprea was recognized at the Utah State Capitol as part of Diplomacy Day. Since 1967, Utah Global Diplomacy has believed that everyone has the right, even the responsibility, to help shape U.S. foreign relations by connecting with each other “one handshake at a time.” By connecting people in Utah with people from around the world to talk with one another and exchange ideas, together, we are changing the world. 2025 marks 10 years of healing, prevention, and education. In June 2015, Saprea opened its doors to the first group of survivors at the Saprea Retreat, known then as the Haven Retreat, a vision brought to life by Shelaine and Derek Maxfield to support adult women impacted by child sexual abuse. Saprea remains committed to empowering individuals and transforming society by addressing this issue.
