It's with great sadness that I learn about the recent passing of SanTan Brewing Company founder and Brewmaster, Anthony. His professional impact was remarkable. - Devil's Ale, an American style Pale-Ale put Arizona brewing on the map, and was consistently award winning and rated one of the best beers in its category, in the United States and globally. - I remember the brew-team teasing the front-of-house staff, doing very "secret" tastings of new releases, before we'd get the amazing team and customer release, where we'd have great pride with a chalk-artist releasing to the tasting menu, and pairing with our menu. - slowly learning about the various star-wars models hidden around the restaurant, over my 18 months as a server (what's that? - ask Jamie or Anthony). - being a part of the growth story, and seeing Santan expand opportunities in BD and partnerships/distribution, as we slowly built a loyal following and saw the craft beer scene revolutionize across wines, spirits, and other farm-to-table concepts in the valley. - watching our brew team and partners, become essential parts of the local brewing ecosystem. Anthony's team succeeded. Anthony was always a nice dude, always had a few minutes to talk, and was absolutely dead-set focused on making a great product. My heart and prayers are with the Santan family.
