Congratulations to Team Chumash All-Star Jenni S. for selecting Cabrillo High School Aquarium as the beneficiary for her 2024 All-Star Grant! Upon making her selection, Jenni shared; "My niece who often accompanies me for Chumash volunteer events also volunteers her time at the Cabrillo High School Aquarium and it's very near and dear to her heart. They offer monthly outreach evening events to the community to visit the aquarium along with field trips tor the local elementary schools and they do this all for free. They are trying to grow the aquarium to offer more educational opportunities for the children and the community so every little bit helps. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to help support such a great cause." What a wonderful organization to support, Jenni! Thank you for all that you do to help others! #teamchumash #allstargrant #makeadifference #volunteeratwork #sbcvolunteers

While the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Culture Department plays a pivotal role in the preservation of our heritage and ancestral traditions within the Santa Ynez Chumash community, they also offer important educational outreach opportunities to bring Santa Ynez Chumash culture to a broader audience. Culture and Language Teachers Isabella Marshall, Sofia Mata and Levi Zavalla are at the forefront of this important collaboration, sharing Chumash culture with schoolchildren across the state and collaborating with California State Parks to film broadcasts and host in-person presentations for use in fourth-grade classrooms. Thank you Isabella, Sofia and Levi. The work you are doing today is helping to preserve Santa Ynez Chumash history, culture and heritage for generations to come. ??: Culture and Language Teachers Isabella Marchall, Sofia Mata and Levi Zavalla at the 2024 Maria Solares Celebration. #santaynezbandofchumashindians #santaynezchumashculture #preservingourlegacy #nativeamericanheritagemonth

#NativeAmericanHeritageMonth is a wonderful time to share this collection of photos from last month's Santa Ynez Chumash Culture Day, held at the corner of Highway 246 and Meadowvale Road. Thank you to all who came out to celebrate California's diverse Chumash culture with song, dance, language, and community. #santaynezbandofchumashindians #santaynezchumashcultureday #nahm

Congratulations to Learning & Development Manager Maria Jones successfully completing Advanced Facilitation Training, and for providing guidance to others throughout The Leadership Challenge at Chumash Enterprises! As a Certified Facilitator, Maria has been responsible for coordinating classes and coaching workshop participants, demonstrating her incredible dedication to building a culture of learning throughout the organization. The authors of The Leadership Challenge define leadership as “the art of mobilizing others to struggle for shared aspirations.” Chief Human Resources Officer Dan Nogal explains, “Maria truly delivers on this definition every day, not only by facilitating workshops, but by demonstrating the five practices day in and day out. It is a pleasure to work with such a respected leader.” Congratulations Maria, and thank you for all that you do! #chumashenterprises #oneteamchumash #theleadershipchallenge

Thanks to the careful stewardship of the Santa Ynez Chumash Environmental Office, the Tribal Nursery in Santa Ynez has become a popular space for young Santa Ynez Chumash community members to learn about the natural world. In addition to providing seasonal fun, the nursery also grows culturally relevant native plants for traditional food, medicine, and fiber. #syceo #tribalnursery #fallfun
