We're celebrating the opening of the new Tipton Trail at Santa Barbara Botanic Garden!? ? Our Senior Director of Grantmaking, Jenny Kearns, joined the Garden's Executive Director, Steve Windhager, on site as this 1.3-mile pathway was recently opened. This trail was made possible through our Conservation, Environment and Public Trails (CEPT) grant, and connects visitors to the eastern portion of the Garden's 78-acre property.? ? Opened on National Hiking Day, this trail embodies our commitment to environmental sustainability and public access to nature. We're proud to support projects that enhance our community's connection to the outdoors. Happy hiking, Santa Barbara County!

Did you know Lynch syndrome can increase your risk of colorectal, uterine, and pancreatic cancers? Lynch syndrome is an inherited genetic disorder linked to an increased risk of developing #cancer earlier in life. ???? Therefore, early detection of Lynch syndrome can be lifesaving. And that’s where the LEAP program comes in. LEAP, the Lynch Syndrome?#Education?and Assessment Program, helps identify and support individuals with this genetic predisposition through personalized?#screenings?and expert guidance from genetic counselors at Ridley-Tree Cancer Center. Thanks to LEAP, families in our community can have crucial conversations about their?cancer?risk and can take steps to prevent it. This month, we are especially grateful for a generous $167,000 gift from Richard V. Gunner, trustee of the Dr. Howard R. Bierman and Anthony Granatelli Fund at the Santa Barbara Foundation. With this funding, genetic counselors can continue providing: ? life-saving screenings ? education ? care Ensuring that Santa Barbara County residents have access to the support they need, regardless of financial means. Thank you to all our donors for making this critical program possible!?#SantaBarbaraCounty?#LynchSyndrome?#GeneticCounseling Learn More: https://lnkd.in/g3HKf79k
