What an incredible evening at our Toast to the Nonprofit Community event! We gathered at the beautiful Vega Vineyard and Farm in City Of Buellton to celebrate the dedication and impact of our local nonprofit heroes. Fun and heartfelt conversation was had by all, a testament to the power of community collaboration. ? We invite Santa Barbara County performing arts organizations to apply for the Towbes Fund for the Performing Arts grants!? ? The Towbes Fund for the Performing Arts invests, nurtures, and expands opportunities for local nonprofit organizations to create and increase access to performing arts in our region. Grants are available this fall to nonprofit organizations seeking to further their mission of providing quality performing arts opportunities. On July 23rd, the Apache Fire greatly impacted Quail Springs, one of our valued nonprofit partners in eastern Santa Barbara County. With funding from our Community Disaster Relief fund, Quail Springs is working to restore their land with support from their New Cuyama neighbors and nearby communities. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible donors and nonprofit partners for helping us build a stronger, more resilient Santa Barbara County. A huge thank you on a #FeelGoodFriday to Santa Barbara Foundation and Cavalletto Charites for their grant supporting our highly successful Community Wellness (CW) program over the next two years! Through CW and with the support of SBF and Cavalletto Charities, CommUnify will continue to train a trusted network of Head Start personnel and parent peers to help Head Start parents/guardians and extended families identify symptoms and signs of mental health issues, reduce stigma, and seek help. Exciting news for Santa Barbara County families and child care providers! We're proud to share the results of months-long work in partnership with Children's Resource & Referral of Santa Barbara County and the Santa Barbara County Child Care Planning Council. The "Santa Barbara County Child Care Facilities Needs Assessment" and "Planning for Child Care Land Use Report" are now available, offering valuable insights into the current landscape of child care facilities, unmet needs for licensed care for infants and toddlers, and recommendations for steps forward and facility development. These reports are part of a larger initiative funded by the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors through ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) allocations that shed light on the critical need for expanded child care facilities in our community. The SBF Philanthropic Services team took a trip out of the office to experience and learn about the profound work of our valued nonprofit partner, the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden! ? Their team toured us through their expansive seed bank, herbarium, laboratory and event hosting spaces, which demonstrated the multi-dimensional aspects of their organization. We concluded the day by exploring what will become the 'Tipton Trail', which will open up a new part of the property to the public and was supported by a Conservation, Environment and Public Trails Grant from the Santa Barbara Foundation!

Our Child Care Grant program opens today, Monday, August 19! ? Child Care Grants are offered to increase capacity among nonprofit child care providers in Santa Barbara County to meet the critical needs of young children and set the stage for lifelong learning success. This year’s grant will also focus on supporting providers in leadership and professional development, family engagement, and strategies that promote equitable access to quality child care.
