?? Urgent Food Safety Alert: E. coli Outbreak Linked to Organic Carrots – 1 Death, 39 Cases, and 15 Hospitalizations Reported ?? An E. coli outbreak has prompted a recall of organic whole and baby #carrots with at least 39 cases reported across 18 states. Grimmway Farms, the supplier, issued the recall after detecting potential contamination. These carrots were sold at major retailers throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada, including Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons, Publix Super Markets, Target, Whole Foods Market, Trader Joe's and Canadian chains such as Loblaws and Compliments. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and FDA urge consumers to dispose of or return any recalled carrots for a refund. If you've handled any of the affected products, thoroughly clean and sanitize all surfaces they may have touched. Sani Professional? No-Rinse Sanitizing Multi-Surface Wipes are ideal for sanitizing contaminated surfaces, having proven efficacy against E. coli, as well as other common foodborne pathogens like Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus aureus, on nonporous food contact surfaces.
