关于我们
Sangfroid Strategy is a human-centered data-driven strategy firm. We help our clients better understand themselves and the people they serve, set goals and strategy, and build and renovate programs, processes, and systems that increase their social impact. The word Sangfroid means having composure or coolness in complex or difficult situations. We work with social service organizations - and every one of them are navigating complex and difficult situations. Our company's specialty is data-driven strategy to increase social impact - and through that we help our clients move through the complexity of their work with calmness, composure, and ease. Our work falls into 3 broad categories: 1) Strategy (Create) - From strategic planning, implementation, program development and more, we help organizations discover where they want to go, and work with them until they get there. 2) Data + Evaluation (Learn) - We believe that data, stories, and information are some of the best, and often underutilized, assets to an organization. With a deep evaluation background, we offer everything from regional landscape assessments, to program evaluation, automated monitoring dashboards, and organizational assessments. 3) Prototype, systems, and process building (Innovate) - At our core, we believe that people are the drivers of great organizations, and when people are equipped with the knowledge, skills, tools, and capacity to achieve great things, they will. We work long-term with many of our clients to intentionally prototype solutions, programs, and approaches. Visit us at sangfroidstrategy.com for more information!

?? Food For Thought ?? ?? In times of uncertainty, the instinct is often to scale up—expand programs, grow budgets, and reach more people. But what if true, long-term impact isn’t about getting bigger, but about getting stronger? A compelling article by Pilar Mendoza and Clare Nolan from Center for Effective Philanthropy challenges the traditional mindset around growth, urging funders and nonprofits to shift from scaling for size to scaling for sustainability—with community leadership at the core. ?? Key Takeaways for Funders & Nonprofits: ?? Community-Led Change is Key – The most effective solutions emerge when communities lead the way. Funders must trust, resource, and support those closest to the issues. ?? Resilience Over Rapid Expansion – Growth doesn’t always mean impact. Strengthening existing networks, relationships, and infrastructure leads to lasting change. For nonprofits to remain effective amid uncertainty, sustainability must take precedence over growth. Too often, organizations feel pressured to expand services rapidly to meet increasing demand, but without the proper infrastructure, this approach can lead to burnout, inefficiencies, and diminished impact.?? Instead, focusing on strengthening internal capacity, fostering strategic partnerships, and ensuring financial resilience creates a foundation that enables long-term success. ?? How is your organization thinking about sustainability? Let’s shift the conversation from expansion to enduring impact—because resilience isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing better. #NonprofitLeadership #FundingForImpact #CommunityLedChange #SocialImpact
NEW on the CEP blog: What does it look like to approach strengthening and scaling sustainable nonprofit organizations, especially in uncertain times, with a community-driven approach? ?? Must-Read for Nonprofits!!?? ??AI is reshaping the nonprofit sector—and equity, ethics, and community impact are important to keep in mind.??While many nonprofits turn to tech companies for AI solutions, relying solely on them can create challenges: limited understanding of community needs, biases in AI models, and resource constraints. ?? A powerful article from Stanford Social Innovation Review by Michelle Flores Vryn, CFRE, and Meenakshi (Meena) Das explores why nonprofits must prioritize community-centered AI collaborations to ensure AI serves people and missions first. ?? Key Takeaways: ?? Beyond the Tech Sector – AI adoption in nonprofits should be guided by mission-driven partnerships across the social sector—not just tech firms. Nonprofits, funders, and community leaders must co-create AI solutions that truly address real-world challenges. ?? Tackling AI Bias – AI models can reinforce systemic inequalities if built on biased data. To prevent this, nonprofits must advocate for transparent, inclusive, and ethical AI practices that uplift diverse perspectives. ?? ?? Resourcing for Sustainability – AI isn’t just about adopting new tools—it requires staff training, governance structures, and long-term investment. Without the right resources, AI can create more problems than solutions. ?? ?? How is your organization approaching AI adoption? Let’s discuss how we can make AI work for the sector, not the other way around! ?? #AIforNonprofits #SocialImpact #CapacityBuilding
AI can only boost the under-resourced nonprofit world if we design it to serve the communities we care about. But as nonprofits consider how to incorporate AI into their work, many look to expertise from tech sector, expecting tools and implementation advice as well as ethical guidance. Yet when mission-driven entities partner?solely?with tech companies, they may encounter a variety of obstacles, such as: ?? Limited understanding of community needs ?? Bias in AI models ?? Resource constraints Michelle Flores Vryn, CFRE and Meenakshi (Meena) Das, CEO of Namaste Data, share recommendations for nonprofits on how to build meaningful partnerships across the social sector, not just the tech sector, when adopting AI into their operations: https://lnkd.in/eQJxredG

As part of our Visioning Forward process, we are reevaluating the grant cycle frequency to better align with our strategic priorities. Reducing the number of cycles from six per year to three or four will help streamline operations, reduce staff workload, and improve our responsiveness to grantees. A special thank you to Sangfroid Strategy for their expertise and guidance in helping us navigate this transformative process. Stay tuned as we continue to share insights and updates from this journey! #MHJF #VisioningForward
