Dr. Indra Chandrasekar, Dr. Brook Busselman, Jenna Zimmerman, Dr. Malini Mukherjee, Claire Evans, Kelly Graber, Vedant Thakkar, PhD student Arooba Ilyas, and Dr. Kamesh Surendran have published a new study in Function! Their research explores how myosin motor proteins MYH9 and MYH10 help transport materials in the kidney. When these proteins were missing in a mouse model, it led to progressive kidney disease and cell damage, along with differences between males and females in how kidney cells adapted. ?? https://bit.ly/4h2Ux6f

    ?? Collaborating for Cancer Research Dr. Michelle Baack of Sanford Research is a co-investigator in a two-year colorectal cancer study with USD’s Dr. Khosrow Rezvani. Supported by a $200,000 grant from the Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s Project Cure CRC, this research focuses on using nanoparticle technology to improve drug delivery and treatment.
