?? Sanford and OLLI showed up for our community! For the first few weeks of November, staff members donated toilet paper and tissue for older adults. With this success, we cannot wait to host another drive in the spring!

We had the honor of hosting a special healthy steps workshop for the Retired Faculty Association at University of Nevada, Reno and these folks are fall educated! A big thank you to all our participants and OLLI for the space!

What is Medication Therapy Management? It is a free program offered by Sanford Center for Aging that is a comprehensive medication review for Nevadans age 60 and older who are taking five or more medications and/or supplements. Sanford Center is offering a free workshop to help you prevent diabetes! This year-long lifestyle program focuses on healthy eating and physical activity. This program is held on Wednesdays and starts on November 6 via Zoom. Link sent upon registration. ?Eligibility: 18+, BMI of 25 or higher (23 or higher for Asian Americans), not previously diagnosed with diabetes, cannot be pregnant. Must also have a blood test in the prediabetes range, be previously diagnosed with gestational diabetes or have a high-risk test result on the CDC’s prediabetes risk test. ?Benefits: Lowers risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58% three years after the program compared to placebo group.
