Today I feel lucky to be one of the SanDisk? ambassadors to test and use the new #SanDiskDeskDrive. As a director and executive producer, this new desktop SSD is truly a great solution because it is one of the products we have always dreamed of. I have always been a Mac user and generally renew my hardware every 3 years but like most users in our industry when setting up your new Mac, we always prefer to maximize memory, CPU and GPU rather than internal storage. In fact, storage-wise, I always prefer to use ultra-fast external drives to manage and monitor my productions. such as multiple 1 or 2 TB Sandisk Extreme Pro portable SSDs for all card backups and sharing in the field and a 80 TB Sandisk G-Raid Shuttle 4 HDD as central, static storage for all my post-production Today, the new Sandisk Desktop SSD solution is a game changer as it improves both speed and space. With 8TB I have over 8 times the space of my internal Macbook and Mac Studio and thanks to its small size and weight and even I need to power it, I can always keep it in my bags. Also thanks to the SSD, the speed is 4 times faster than my main HDD central station. So after two weeks of use, my final choice will be to have two 8TB units of this new desktop SSD. one dedicated to my shooting bag with all my audio files, video loops and all the media and content necessary for all my different live multicam events to produce and another 8TB desktop SSD dedicated to all my daily desktop backups with Apple Time Machine compatibility. To summarize THE 3 “S” (SPEED, SPACE and STORAGE CAPACITY) clearly make the difference in my daily workflow.
