In celebration of World Recycling Day, we're sharing how big changes at Sanbell led us to digital business cards—and big stacks of old cards. But toss them? No way! Instead, our clever geotechnical engineers found an awesome way to give them a second life. Those old cards now help label soil samples during oven testing, checking for things like plastic indexes and moisture limits. Turns out, business cards withstand heat & moisture better than regular paper—who knew? We're moving forward sustainably and having fun doing it! On 3/14 we celebrate Pi, the most delicious irrational number! Used most commonly to calculate the circumference or area of a circle, we here at Sanbell LOVE Pi. According to a recent poll, 65% of Sanbell employees use Pi at work. The rest of us just enjoy Pie at work. When quizzed on the subject staff members from all different departments had an average of six digits of Pi memorized. Staff Engineer Earianne Bihis held the record at 28 digits! And what better way to celebrate a number that measures circles than to bake some circles? Across the Sanbell offices Bakeoff's and Pie Palooza's are highlighting Pi(e) in many delicious forms.
