The San Mateo County Medical Association (SMCMA) recently participated in the 2024 California Medical Association House of Delegates (CMA HOD) meeting in Sacramento on October 26-27. The HOD, CMA’s primary policymaking body, focused on two major issues: Rural Health and Maternal Health Equity, with particular attention to obstetric deserts and reproductive health. Look out for CMA’s upcoming policy outcomes on these topics.
The event also featured the inauguration of Dr. Shannon Udovic-Constant as the 2025 CMA President and the election of Dr. Rene Bravo as President-Elect. Representing District VII, the SMCMA delegation included leaders such as Cindy Cooper, MD, Connor Lundy, MD , and Executive Director Keith Darby, CAE, IOM.
