关于我们
Art transforms lives. It provokes us to think, to express, to explore our own creativity, to envision new possibilities. SFMOMA expanded the museum to provide a better experience for our visitors and a better home for our expanding collections, including the SFMOMA collection and the Fisher Collection, one of the finest collections of contemporary art in the world. The new SFMOMA, designed in collaboration with the architecture firm Sn?hetta, opened May 2016. With this project, we are transforming not just the museum's physical presence, but also our contributions to the community, enhancing SFMOMA's role as a place for learning, inspiration, and interaction for visitors from the Bay Area and beyond. We are making SFMOMA a magnet for contemporary art and for the audiences who will engage with it. View our current job listings → https://www.sfmoma.org/join-the-team

If you know San Francisco, you know Ruth Asawa! Happy Ruth Asawa Day! In 1982, San Francisco declared February 12 to be Ruth Asawa Day in honor of her work as an artist and advocate for arts education in the city. Opening on April 5, "Ruth Asawa: Retrospective" will present the full range of the artist’s groundbreaking practice, offering an in-depth look at more than 300 works that span her six-decade career—including her iconic wire sculptures, paintings, works in clay, and rarely seen works. We invite you to discover Asawa’s resilience and creativity, from her childhood to her career in San Francisco, where she became a symbol of innovation and community.
