It was an honor to have Meg Murray, CEO of Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) at our SFHP Headquarters. Our team has seen Katarina Watson in action at the SF Pregnancy Family Village, and know she is deeply committed to improving health outcomes for Black moms and birthing people. ACAP is thrilled to announce Katarina Watson, a fourth-year medical student at the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine as the winner our third annual Sylvia B. Kelly Medical Scholarship for Health Equity. Katarina was recognized for her high academic achievement and long-term commitment to improving Black reproductive health.? ? ? ACAP CEO Meg Murray was delighted to present the award to Katarina last week, during a visit to ACAP-member San Francisco Health Plan alongside plan CEO Yolanda R. Richardson. Sylvia B. Kelly, the award’s namesake, is President and CEO of Community Health Network of Connecticut, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center-sponsored Safety Net Health Plan. The scholarship is administered by National Medical Fellowships, Inc. (NMF), which has provided scholarships and support for underrepresented minority students in medicine and the health professions since 1946.
