For Michael Texada, his community inspired a career in violence prevention. For over 30 years, Mike has worked with young people to end the cycles of violence so many face. Throughout his tenure with UCSF Department of Surgery's SF Wraparound Project, Mike has mentored countless young people to seek out a new path, creating a future free from violence. The Foundation is proud to honor Mike with the 2025 Hero and Heart Award. #HeartsinSF

Today, the Addiction Care Team treats patients not only with the latest innovations in addiction medicine, but with compassion and dignity. This milestone event celebrated our city’s journey from Gold Rush-era ambition to today’s spirit of reinvention—a theme deeply aligned with Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center's own story of resilience. The morning included insightful discussions on economic revitalization, with the Chamber’s annual poll highlighting voter priorities like public safety and healthcare access. Special thanks and congratulations to SFGHF Board Member and CEO of the Chamber of?Commerce Rodney Fong for hosting?such a great event. The Chamber’s focus on reigniting downtown energy—from supporting small businesses to advancing infrastructure projects—resonates with our work to ensure that 1 in 8 San Franciscans can rely on ZSFG’s care.?

For Kate Margolis, PhD, consistency is the key to better caring for children and their families during their visits to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center's 6M clinic. That's why she founded #HealthySteps - to ensure families get the resources they need along the way to build healthy, strong futures for their children.
