Mobilizing the community to support equitable access to a quality education for San Francisco's public school students
关于我们
For over 40 years, the San Francisco Education Fund has mobilized the community to support equitable access to a quality education for San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) public school students. Though programs have evolved to meet changing needs, it is the Ed Fund’s established relationships in the community that uniquely allows us to accelerate effective implementation of targeted solutions. This commitment to create stable and equitable conditions, so that all students can learn, continues to drive all that the Ed Fund does. The Ed Fund envisions a future where each and every San Francisco public school student has equitable access to quality education so that they can engage and enrich our collective community.

January is National Mentoring Month, a time to celebrate the transformative power of mentorship. For Connie Jeung-Mills, a mentor with the Ed Fund since 2023, mentoring is deeply personal. Growing up as a mixed-race student in predominantly white schools, she faced discrimination but found mentors who profoundly shaped her life. Now, Connie pays it forward by helping young people navigate identity and self-discovery. Through creativity, authenticity, and consistency, she has seen mentoring transform both mentors and mentees. Learn more about Connie's journey as a mentor: https://lnkd.in/gz2nKDzV Learn more about our mentoring program: https://lnkd.in/gjBm-59B Thank you to all of our mentors for your dedication to supporting San Francisco students!

We're thrilled to announce our partnership with Chapter One US (formerly Innovations for Learning) to deliver in-person, high-impact literacy tutoring to nearly 600 K-2 students this school year. We kicked off the New Year strong at Sanchez and Guadalupe Elementary! High-impact tutoring pairs students with consistent tutors for 3+ sessions per week using quality materials. Chapter One's during-the-day model removes barriers to attendance, a key factor in program success. Last year, students who attended 70%+ of sessions with our tutoring partner BookNook ?? gained 1-2 reading levels. More than 1,000 additional SFUSD students would benefit from high-impact tutoring. Donate now to ensure EVERY SFUSD student is a proficient reader: sfedfund.org/donate.
