SDWAC is San Diego's premier nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to educating and informing on global affairs
关于我们
The San Diego World Affairs Council is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to educating and engaging San Diegans in global issues, international relations, and cultural understanding. SDWAC is part of the World Affairs Councils of America, the largest international affairs non-profit organization in the United States. Our council serves the downtown and central areas of San Diego. In addition, we have a North County Chapter serving that area and through our combined efforts we serve over three hundred members. The San Diego World Affairs Council shares the vision that has guided the nation’s World Affairs Councils for over half of a century: ? To serve as the focal point of the community’s international interests. ? To provide a variety of programs and services to individuals, schools, corporations, and organizations. ? To support the community’s civic, social, professional, business, cultural, and educational organizations in their international efforts. We promote interest and dialogue throughout the San Diego community in international relations and world affairs. We sponsor events with international themes, host prominent speakers, and facilitate discussions on global issues. We encourage all of our members to follow international politics and to educate themselves on global issues by joining the discussion.

#OpportunityAlert ?? Virtual event from our friends at the World Affairs Council of Connecticut: "Avoiding a Forever War" with Dr. Trita Parsi. on Tuesday, October the 29th. The conflict between Israel and Iran is escalating at a rapid pace.?With the U.S. deploying 100 U.S. service members and a THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) Missile Defense System to Israel, the U.S. seems to be signaling increased involvement in the conflict. As Israel and Iran trade attacks, join us for a conversation on the escalating tensions, U.S. involvement, and whether or not the U.S. risks entering another "forever war." Dr. Trita Parsi, Executive VP of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, award-winning author, and community favorite of CTWAC returns to address these challenges and more. RSVP today for the inside look at this rapidly developing conflict. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gS5z8x_v

Many, many thanks to all who made the K-Diplomacy event with the Korean Consulate Los Angeles at National University a huge success! It was a beautiful, informative event featuring catered Korean appetizers, Korean crafts brought by the folks at House of Korea, and a K-pop demonstration from the dance team from San Diego State University.
