?? Otterly amazing news! ?? ?? Our Watershed Ecology team has been monitoring wildlife with trail cameras and captured an exciting sight—an unmistakable North American River Otter (Lontra canadensis)! ?? These elusive creatures were once common here but disappeared due to habitat loss and trapping. While recent sightings have been recorded near Goliad and the San Marcos River, this is the first confirmed otter sighting in the upper San Antonio watershed in years! ?? From the Mission Reach to the ongoing Westside Creeks ecosystem restoration projects, this sighting is proof that efforts to protect and restore our waterways are having tangible impacts! ?? https://ow.ly/lQ2U50VibHc #RiverOtter #Ecology #Science #AquaticBiology #Nature #EcosystemRestoration #SanAntonioRiver #SanAntonioRiverAuthority #OurRIverWay #SafeCleanEnjoyable
