?????????? ?????????? – ???????????????? ???????? ?????????????????? “????????” ????????????????, ?????? ???????????????? ?????????? ????????????????/???????????????? Lupe has been a valued member of the San Antonio Care Team for 20 years; 19 of those as a certified nursing assistant. She recently attended Cal Baptist University to pursue her nursing degree, and we are proud to say that she joined our new grad program last year as an oncology nurse. Lupe has worked hard, and in the process has become an amazing nurse! She quietly leads with care and compassion. She was nominated by a patient who had developed complications after surgery. “Lupe showed compassion, patience, and empathy for my situation. She made me feel as though I was her only patient and that my well-being was her main concern. There was never a moment I felt she was too busy or that I was a bother. Thank you for hiring such an excellent nurse and such a genuine human being. Lupe certainly chose the right career path.” Lupe is not stopping at an RN degree, she is currently working on her master’s degree as well. Congratulations, Lupe! #daisyaward #hereforlife

???????? ?????????? – ???????????????? ???????? ?????????????? ????????????????????, ?????????????????? ???????????????????? Vanessa joined San Antonio just six months ago as a tech in our Emergency Department. She is dedicated and compassionate, and her long-term goal is to enter a nursing program and specialize in neonatal care. In her short time with us, Vanessa has already demonstrated that she is quick to go the extra mile without being asked. She was recently transporting a pregnant patient who had come to the ED complaining of chest pain. During the transport for an EKG, Vanessa noticed the patient’s heart rate was low. As soon as the EKG was completed, Vanessa took the patient’s blood pressure, which was significantly elevated. The patient also stated that she had developed a headache. Vanessa immediately notified the charge nurses, which allowed the patient to be assessed quickly to ensure she received timely care. As an ED tech, Vanessa went above and beyond what is expected of her. She stepped up and acted on her gut instinct with quick thinking and knowledge. Congratulations, Vanessa! #leafaward #hereforlife

???????????????????? ?????????? – ?????????? ?????????????? ???????? ?????????? ??????????, ???? - ??????????????, ?????????????? ?????????????????????????????? ?????? Jamie began her career at San Antonio in 2009 as a certified nursing assistant. After completing nursing school, she worked as a new grad RN in the Emergency Department. In 2016, she transferred to our Cardiac Catheterization Lab and was promoted to manager in 2024. Jamie is well respected by both physicians and staff. She is smart, fair, a problem solver, and a hands-on manager, willing to jump in and assist whenever needed. Cardiologist Suraj Rasania, MD recalls a particularly busy day in the Cath Lab. He compliments Jamie for going above and beyond to coordinate procedures in a most efficient manner, making sure all who needed care were able to receive it promptly. In the process, Jamie made sure all patients, physicians, and care team members were well taken care of. She is a wonderful role model to her staff. We are so fortunate to have Jamie as part of the San Antonio team! Congratulations, Jamie!

On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, millions of Christians around the world observed Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent—a season of prayer, fasting, and reflection. The ashes served as a reminder of mortality and the call to spiritual renewal. At San Antonio Regional Hospital, our Spiritual Care Department provided the Imposition of the Ashes to those who wished to participate. Our team traveled throughout the hospital, offering ashes to patients, family members, and staff, ensuring that those who sought this sacred tradition were able to receive it. #HereForLife
