Construction Update ?? Located just north of downtown, Four25 San Pedro has made significant strides since going vertical. The building wrap of the 5-story structure is currently underway, and roof trusses are being installed. The project is being led by our development partner, Franklin Development, and is on track to reach completion by the end of the year. The 9% LIHTC development will include 25 permanent supportive housing units, and is a crucial step towards achieving San Antonio's SHIP goals of providing greater affordability for residents. #Four25SanPedro #SanAntonioHousingTrust #housingthatsaffordable #permanentsupportivehousing

The San Antonio Housing Trust Entities have approved a little over $1.6 million in funding to support critical affordable housing initiatives across the city. These funds will be allocated to five nonprofit organizations dedicated to increasing housing accessibility and improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations. The approved allocations are as follows: ? SA Impact Guild - $50,000 Goliad Road Community of Promise Feasibility Study funds will aid in assessing the surplus land owned by the Lutheran Church of Good Shepherd to transform this underutilized church property into an “economic mobility campus.” ? Culturingua – $150,000 to establish a Community Land Trust aimed at preserving homeownership and preventing displacement among low to moderate income families and persons in the Medical Center area. ? Merced Housing Texas – $90,000 for renovations at Eleanor Apartments and $213,000 for upgrades at Kings Court Senior Apartments, enhancing housing stability for low- to moderate-income residents and $440,000 for the rehabilitation of Elmhurst Apartments ? Opportunity Home San Antonio – $650,000 for critical renovations at Dietrich Road Apartments, a 30-unit complex serving individuals and families earning at or below 60% Area Median Income (AMI). ? Bethel AME – $25,500 to conduct a feasibility study for the development of affordable senior housing on the Eastside of San Antonio. “These investments reinforce our commitment to preserving and improving affordable housing opportunities in San Antonio,” said Pete Alanis, Executive Director of the San Antonio Housing Trust. “By partnering with mission-driven organizations, we can ensure long-term housing stability for our most vulnerable communities.” The funding is part of the FY 2025 Joint Request for Application (RFA) process, which focused on providing technical assistance and funding for the renovation and repair of existing public housing and small multi-family rental units. A total of 10 applications were received, requesting $2.57 million in funding. Applicants were evaluated on their ability to serve vulnerable populations, including individuals at risk of displacement, people experiencing homelessness, at-risk youth, individuals with disabilities, and older adults. Additionally, applicants were required to demonstrate affordability commitments for at least 10 years, with rental and income restrictions at or below 60% AMI, or 120% AMI for homeownership projects. Following the efforts of the Youth Housing Stability Summit hosted by City of San Antonio Department of Human Services last October, the San Antonio Housing Trust, Urban Land Institute, and DHS this month organized the Youth Housing Stability Workshop. The collaborative event brought together local and national housing experts, service providers, policy makers and youth with lived experience to connect, learn, and discuss development solutions to address housing for youth and young adults who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We appreciate our featured speakers Rev. Laura AG Rossbert, Dawn Hicks, Alex Roque, and Lance Gilliam, who shared experiences and case studies from around the country. We also gained great insights through a design exercise where participants brainstormed proposed site and building designs that marry housing with supportive services to best serve this priority population. Thank you to all the participants who made this event a success and for their commitment to finding solutions to reach youth housing stability. San Antonio is a city that thrives on community, compassion, and inclusivity. As we continue to invest in solutions that support our neighbors experiencing chronic homelessness, we’re proud to partner with City of San Antonio, SAMMinistries, and other community leaders on The Commons at Acequia Trails, a new Permanent Supportive Housing development that will soon break ground. What exactly is Permanent Supportive Housing? The City of San Antonio has put together a short video to explain how this approach helps break the cycle of homelessness by providing stable housing and on-site support services. Watch the video to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gg6U4pqU Together, we’re building a stronger, more supportive San Antonio. #HousingForAll #TheCommonsAtAcequia #SanAntonioHousingTrust #permanentsupportivehousing #SAMMinistries
