Celebrating Splendor 2024: A Night of Growth and Impact Our 17th annual Splendor in the Garden gala is making a tremendous impact, thanks to the generosity of our community and the leadership of co-chairs Carolina Lewis and Sallie Schneider! More than $800,000 was raised to enrich lives through plants and nature through this special event. These funds bring the San Antonio Botanical Garden closer to serving 50,000 people each year through access programs and allow us to continue leading in native plant conservation. Together, we’re ensuring the San Antonio Botanical Garden grows as a place where nature, learning, and discovery are accessible to all. Save the date! Through school field trips, over?21,000 students?were introduced to the wonders of nature, and more than?23,000 people?visited through our diverse access programs. ? We recently launched Nature Navigator, our shuttle access program, to ensure that those who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance can experience our 38-acre urban oasis. With a goal to serve?50,000 individuals?through these access programs by the end of 2026, the Garden is committed to including all of our community. ? Record-Breaking Attendance and Membership: Unprecedented growth in visitor numbers in March and April and an additional 1,600 member households this year. ?? Strategic Master Planning: Comprehensive planning with Reed Hildebrand for the Garden's development. ?? Huntopia Exhibition: Successful opening of Huntopia by renowned artist Hunt Slonem. ?? Garden for All Initiative: Launch of Shuttle Access Program for community accessibility to being a 3-year plan to bring more than 50,000 visitors to the Garden through access programming. ? Katherine is committed to leading the Garden toward becoming a destination Garden and making it inclusive for all people.
