For the first time ever, the state of Idaho approves its first solar farm on state land! The state has voted to lease 11,000 acres of land to PacifiCorp for the farm. Once finished, it will have more than 300 megawatts of combined wind, solar, and storage nameplate capacity. Idaho currently gets around 17% of its power through wind farms, a stat which is likely to majorly increase with the new approved solar farm (with more likely to follow). Many other renewable sources are also making great progress in the state & across the entire US! If you're interested in exploring opportunities working in renewables across the USA, visit our website for more information: https://lnkd.in/er4DGgn6

The sun produces enough energy in 2 minutes to meet the entire power demands of the human race... But, our technical capabilities mean we can not harvest or store this amount of energy. Some experts predict that within the next decade we will run out of space to build and commission new solar and wind farms. There are many new methods of farming renewable energy undergoing major research and development outside of solar and wind; such as nuclear and hydrogen. So as a planet, do we focus on improving our current technology, or do we look to other methods of farming energy?

Hydrogen is the most abundant of all elements, estimated to contribute to around 75% of the mass of the universe, in theory making it the most desirable form of energy! Current projections indicate that by 2030 the hydrogen economy could be worth around $500bn. Also, burning hydrogen does not release carbon dioxide! Recently, many tech giants announced their plans to utilise nuclear power; but, is hydrogen a better solution?

Incase you missed it, Google has recently announced plans to power their AI data centres with nuclear power. Nuclear power is a form of renewable energy and capable of producing enormous amounts of energy in short spaces of time, however not a lot of research & testing exists with the technology and is considered a relatively new method of renewable energy. Google is joined by other tech giants such as Microsoft and Amazon in utilising renewable energy sources, but what are your thoughts on these tech giants turning to renewable energy?

Google has signed a deal with Kairos Power to use small nuclear reactors to power its AI data centers! The first reactor is expected this decade and more by 2035. The agreement aims to provide clean, reliable energy to support the growing demands of AI technologies. Kairos specialises in advanced nuclear reactors that use molten fluoride salt as a coolant instead of water. As tech firms seek to reduce emissions while meeting rising energy needs, nuclear power, which is nearly carbon-free, is increasingly attractive. Google joins other tech giants like Microsoft and Amazon in embracing nuclear energy. What are your thoughts on tech giants making this transition?

The Las Vegas Sphere is officially coming to Abu Dhabi. The Vegas Sphere is not only a technical brilliance, but it has attracted thousands of people to the brand new entertainment venue! The Sphere is powered by over 150 Nvidia GPU's totalling 28 megawatts of power at its peak. (Estimated enough to power 21,000 homes) The enormous power consumption has spiked questions surrounding it's unnecessary contribution towards climate change, but has delivered promises of aims to provide 100% of its power through renewable sources in the near future. London recently was proposed with plans to build a Sphere, but rejected its approval due to light pollution & power consumption. What are your thoughts on the Sphere & the plans to build one in Abu Dhabi?

Imagine automated submersibles to conduct routine offshore wind tasks... Beam are developing the 'World’s first' AI-driven underwater vehicle used to inspect offshore wind farms! By using advanced AI, Beam said its new vehicle can perform complex underwater tasks with no human intervention, “significantly boosting the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of underwater inspections and surveys.” Offshore wind farm inspections are typically manual and time intensive but with this level of automation it is claimed to cut this inspection time by 50% The new technology is expected to roll out throughout 2025 & 2026!

Not 10 years ago AI was a phrase few had heard of and even less thought possible. Fast forward to today and AI is seen everywhere, from automating simple daily tasks to having the ability to mimic human interaction. The rapid expansion and implementation of AI is both incredible to see and scary to comprehend. We have the ability to generate complex images with a few simple prompts and even drive our car for us... But how do you use AI on a daily basis and how do you see it effecting you in the future?
