Future of Women in Industry Emely Wei? is training to become an industrial mechanic at SAMSON. In Germany, only about 15 percent of industrial workers, from operating machinery to assembling complex systems, are women. ??♀???♀???♀? Her journey into the industry began at a vocational training fair, where she first learned about SAMSON. Even before that, she had been actively searching for companies offering apprenticeships in industrial mechanics. Her fascination with technology started early, and she gained her first hands-on experience through various internships. But for Emely, this apprenticeship is just the beginning. She plans to continue advancing her career, aiming for a master craftsman or technician qualification to further deepen her expertise. She is convinced that industrial careers hold great opportunities for women. The key, she believes, is introducing girls and young women to technical professions early on, helping them see their potential and the possibilities ahead. Her dedication to her craft has not gone unnoticed. In January, she had the unique opportunity to accompany Chancellor Olaf Scholz during his visit to SAMSON, standing as a representative of the next generation of skilled workers. Women in technical fields are still in the minority. But there are pioneers who are paving the way and serving as role models for future generations — and Beate Neumann is one of them. ?? ?? She has been with SAMSON for 35 years, during which she has held a variety of roles. After completing her training as a carpenter, she pursued a 21-month retraining program to become a quality inspector. Her career at SAMSON began in the quality laboratory, where she was responsible for monitoring inspection equipment. But Beate wanted more — she decided to continue her education alongside her job and earned her master craftsman's certificate in metalworking. She later moved to the production department, where she led a team of up to ten people at times. When Beate first joined SAMSON, she was the only woman in a leadership position within the industrial sector. That’s why she now watches the changes over time with great interest and observes that more and more young women are pursuing careers in technical fields such as electronics and mechanics. She hopes that this positive trend will encourage even more women to take on leadership roles in these areas in the future. Her long tenure at SAMSON, the company's openness and stability, and the growing opportunities for women in technical professions continue to motivate her. From the very start of her medical studies, Enzihe was fascinated by the idea of preserving health through preventive care and good working conditions. Today, she brings this approach to life as an occupational physician at SAMSON. Her journey has taken her across borders - from Vienna to Iran and finally to Germany. After several years as an external occupational physician and a leadership role at the Deutsche Bundesbank, she made a conscious decision to move into the industrial sector. “I wanted to make a difference where occupational safety and health management truly matter - in a highly technical environment like SAMSON.” Here, she contributes not only her extensive expertise but also a deep passion for her field. Whether it’s workplace safety, prevention, or individual health counseling, she sees herself as a trusted advisor, a driving force, and a bridge between employees and the company. Her goal: raising awareness for preventive healthcare, improving occupational safety structures, and fostering a workplace where prevention and well-being are second nature. She approaches people with openness and empathy - qualities she considers essential. “Occupational medicine relies on trust. She started her career in chemical plant engineering but soon discovered her passion for digitalization. This brought her to SAMSON in 2020, where she now works as a process engineer, optimizing workflows, integrating digital tools, and driving sustainability. In a traditionally male-dominated field, she is helping to modernize operations and make production more sustainable. With her expertise and forward-thinking approach, she is actively shaping the future of industrial processes. At just 16, Diana began her career at SAMSON with an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. Her decision to apply after a student internship was an easy one - she was particularly drawn to the unique opportunity of combining a traditional office profession with an industrial environment. Today, Diana serves as the Chairwoman of the Works Council at SAMSON. In 2018, she decided to run in the works council elections to advocate for her colleagues' interests. Her primary focus is on ensuring fair and equitable working conditions for all employees. She keeps the workforce informed, consistently represents employees' perspectives, and ensures that collective agreements are upheld. Although the industry remains largely male-dominated, her 30 years of experience have reinforced a key insight: women not only belong in this sector - they are essential and highly valued. She encourages women to confidently apply for roles in the industry, pursue their careers with determination, and aspire to leadership positions - even when it requires persistence and assertiveness. Beyond her work, she hopes to see a shift in how women are portrayed in the media. SAMSON is now among 250 companies in Hessen that have joined a civil military partnership with the Bundeswehr’s newly established Heimatschutzregiment. ?? Launched in October 2024 in response to Europe’s changing security landscape, the initiative aims to strengthen the Bundeswehr’s reserve forces by integrating civilian volunteers into structured defense and crisis response units. As part of the program, SAMSON will release employees for up to 10 days per year to train for critical infrastructure protection, crisis management, and disaster response. The official recognition took place at Schloss Biebrich in Wiesbaden during a formal ceremony that also marked the change of command at the Landeskommando Hessen. Representatives from industry, politics, and the military gathered for the event, where SAMSON’s Director of Plant Infrastructure and retired German Army Captain, Sven Donner, received the certificate from Brigadegeneral Bernd St?ckmann and his successor Holger Radmann. “As a Mittelstand company with deep regional roots, we are pleased to contribute to this important initiative,” Donner said. “Taking responsibility for our community is part of who we are, and at the same time, security and stability are essential for our international business.” ?? ? #SvenDonner #supportourtroops #Heimatschutzregiment
