On February 4, SAMSAT helped welcome our partners and friends from the Defense STEM Education Consortium (DSEC), part of DoD STEM and the U.S. Department of Defense. We are privileged to be members of the DSEC partnership, and to receive support for “DoD STEM Mode in the Museum” and SAMSAT’s R20 Premiere Esports League. The power of regional collaboration was on display as we worked with and were joined by numerous local ecosystem partners. At the conference, SAMSAT led the panel titled "Building the Pathway for San Antonio’s Large Cyber Workforce." The panel featured the 688th Cyberspace Wing in Sixteenth Air Force/Air Forces Cyber. San Antonio cyber education “godfather” Joe S. brought the deep experience of the CyberTexas Foundation. The 688th “Honorary Commander,” aka SAMSAT’s Chief Learning Officer Cliff Zintgraff, Ph.D., organized and moderated the discussion, connecting it to the goals and priorities of our national DSEC colleagues. That evening, we hosted the conference reception at SAMSAT AREA 21? and the Boeing Center at Tech Port, on the campus of Port San Antonio. Joining us for esports competition were students from South San High School Esports STEM, Lutheran High School of San Antonio, and Compass Rose Ingenuity. Thank you DSEC and DoD STEM! For supporting our students, our organizations, and the long-term national security of our country.
