The Society of American Military Engineers is the premier professional military engineering association.
关于我们
SAME builds leaders and leads collaboration among government and industry to develop multidisciplined solutions to national security infrastructure challenges. Founded in 1920, the Society unites public and private sector individuals and organizations from across the architecture, engineering, construction, environmental and facility management, cyber security, project planning, contracting and acquisition, and related disciplines in support of national security. With a National Office in Alexandria, Va., and 100 Posts around the world, SAME provides its nearly 28,000 members with extensive opportunities for training, education, and professional development through a robust offering of conferences, workshops, networking events, publications, webinars, and other member-driven programs. The Kentuckiana Post accomplishes this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties. These meetings are announced via our e-mail distribution list and quarterly newsletter. We are supported by the national Society of American Military Engineers and publications such as The Military Engineer, which also promotes the interests and goals of our Society and its members. Please peruse our website to discover the benefits of SAME Kentuckiana Post membership.

?? This week, the Louisville District’s Regulatory Division performed an annual compliance inspection of the Ross Creek Stream and Wetland Restoration Project, a Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) In-Lieu Fee Program third-party compensatory mitigation project, in Lee County, Kentucky. These third-party restoration projects help offset impacts to “Waters of the U.S.” authorized under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. The availability of third-party mitigation credits from mitigation banks and in-lieu fee sponsors like KDFWR, increase the effectiveness and efficiency of USACE’s decision-making process for Department of the Army permits for regulated activities, including infrastructure and energy projects that support national priorities. #LouisvilleUSACE #Regulatory

?????? ???????????????????? ???????????? ???? ?????????? ?????????? ?????? ?????????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????, ???????????????? ???????????? Members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District’s Dam Safety Section recently completed the installation of a new dam monitoring system at Rough River Dam in Falls of Rough, Kentucky. The system, known as the Monitoring Instrumentation Data Acquisition System (MIDAS), will provide several benefits in future dam monitoring operations. Jackie Henn, dam safety program manager for the Louisville District, said the system will allow for a more modern way of monitoring the dam. “MIDAS is used to acquire, store, and visualize instrumentation data in a centralized location that’s easily accessible online. The system allows manually acquired data from projects to be added on-line giving district staff the ability to quickly view data based on pool elevations and determine the health and integrity of dams during flood situations,” she said. “The Louisville District Dam Safety team worked with United States Geological Survey members to automate the data collection system at Rough River eliminating the need for project staff to walk the dam and manually collect the data. This allows for more frequent readings and real time transfer of data to the MIDAS system allowing a quicker response to instrument changes at the district level.” Read the full story here ?? https://lnkd.in/eY3UKECE ?
