We love when Samantha Jones has a sales tip Saturday for us! If you tuned into the eCarrierCheck.com podcast yesterday then you already heard this one, if not, check out what she has to say about that first objection in sales! “How you handle the first objection in sales will have a huge impact on the rest of that prospect’s sales cycle with you. The first objection is your first opportunity to differentiate yourself. Are you following a transactional sales model or a relationship based sales model? If it’s transactional, a no objection should shut you down. If it’s relationship based a “no I’m not onboarding” or “we don’t need any new partners at this time” is not a no to the question you posed, which is: Can we start getting to know each other to build the foundation of a business relationship. Let me know what you think!” #logistics #sales #transportation #trucking #supplychain

Sales Tip Saturday from Samantha Jones : Agree with your prospect’s objections when they are valid. I’m going to tell you right now I was NEVER taught that in any trainings. But my common sense kicked in one day and I got tired of trying to overcome something that didn’t need to be argued or dissuaded. You can still overcome the objection after validating it by better explaining where you are coming from. If you are a broker or carrier calling shippers you’re all getting the same 5 or so objections right now. And the shipper generally hears the same responses to their objections each time. Stop overthinking it, if it sounds like a right answer it probably is. Show agreement and understanding and find the best way forward from there. Also a reminder: the goal of your call should be to schedule a meeting, which has nothing to do with onboarding or moving a load, so the objections shift to why they shouldn’t spend 20 mins talking to you again one day and that’s a lot easier to handle than why they shouldn’t give you a chance when they don’t know you from Adam. Good luck! (Video is one example, there are many ways to say it) #sales #brand #logistics #supplychain #transportation #trucking #coldcall

Is there a bad day to cold call? Not really. Is there a bad time? Well kind of. At the end of the day, the reality is that you just NEVER KNOW when someone is going to answer that phone and when they are not. However, there is still some data to back best practices. ZoomInfo analyzed 1.4 million cold calls and their outcomes to determine what the best days of the week to cold call were. The results pretty much said Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were best. No huge surprise there.? Mondays are busy and Fridays people are ready to get outta there.? They did note that calling executives on Fridays may have some benefits. When it came to time, a ZoomInfo study suggested it’s less about what time of day, and more about what time of the hour. Meetings eat up a lot of people’s time. And, naturally we even like to block our breaks and self scheduled tasks by the 30 or 60 minute increments. Because of this, calling at either 25 minutes past the hour or 55 minutes past the hour are considered ideal times to call. People are ending meetings, moving between, heading to or from breaks, etc. You may find it helpful to prioritize these small time windows throughout your day.

We are big podcast fans around here. Have you considered hosting a podcast? Or, have you considered speaking on podcasts? Here are some reasons you might want to: Showcase Your Expertise: Hosting or being featured on a podcast allows you to share valuable insights and industry knowledge. It positions your company as a thought leader and builds trust with your audience. Personal Connection: Podcasts give brands a voice—literally! They create a more personal, conversational way to connect with potential customers. People tend to engage more deeply with brands they can relate to, and podcasts offer that human touch. Repurpose Content: Podcasts can become the foundation for blog posts, social media content, and newsletters. You’re not just producing audio; you’re creating an engine for multiple marketing channels. Trust us, we love the content we can create off of these! SEO & Traffic Boost: When you share your podcast episodes and guests promote their features, you get more backlinks and mentions, increasing your visibility into new networks. Inbound Lead Generation: By providing value and offering actionable insights through your episodes, listeners will see you as a go-to resource. This can naturally lead to more inquiries and inbound leads as they seek your products or services. What are your reasons for podcasting? What are the pros you see or even the cons? #podcasting #logistics #transportation #brand #revenue #socialselling #marketing

Growing your personal or company brand isn’t a one-time effort — it requires showing up consistently and being willing to play the long game. ? Whether you're posting insights, engaging with your audience, or sharing updates, success comes through steady, intentional action. Sure, you’ve got to listen to the data. See what’s resonating with your audience, which posts are driving engagement, and what’s falling flat. But here’s the thing: don’t pivot too quickly. Give your strategy the time to work. Constantly shifting directions because you’re not seeing overnight success will dilute your brand and confuse your audience. Keep an eye on what’s working, make thoughtful adjustments based on data, but don’t throw in the towel just because growth feels slow. Consistency + Strategy = Sustainable Brand Growth ?? #brandbuilding #consistency #branding #personalbranding #LinkedInGrowth #businessstrategy
