This January 2025, Attorney George Douglas, III of Salzmann Hughes, PC, was honored to draft and read the resolution (attached) for the Cumberland County Bar Association at the memorial service for retired federal judge, and stepmother to Attorney Douglas, Honorable Sylvia H. Rambo. Nothing short of iconic could describe Judge Rambo. She lays claim to the title of the first woman chief public defender, the first woman Judge in Cumberland County, the first woman federal judge for Pennsylvania’s Middle District, the first chief justice for Pennsylvania’s Middle District, and in 2022 she was the first woman in Pennsylvania to have a courthouse named after her. It was a great privilege for many of our practitioners at Salzmann Hughes to know and work with Judge Rambo. She will be dearly missed by her family and stepson, George F. Douglas, III, but her legacy will continue to inspire many for years to come. Read her full obituary at: https://lnkd.in/erjsgCc8

This October 2024, members of Salzmann Hughes Law Firm and GMS Funding Solutions enjoyed attending the 9th Annual Franklin County Legislative Breakfast at Green Grove Gardens! We were proud to serve as table sponsors at the event. The Franklin County Government Affairs hosted the event through the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce, Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce and Tuscarora Area Chamber of Commerce. The panel featured representatives Rob Kauffman, Paul Schemel and Rich Irvin, who discussed important issues affecting the business climate in our area.
