The Salvation Army Phx ARC was on-site to share the life-changing opportunities available through our program, including housing, job training, and recovery services at no cost. We are committed to serving those who have sacrificed so much for our country, providing a path to stability and self-sufficiency. Today, the Nursing Cohort of The University of Arizona College of Nursing had the opportunity to visit The Salvation Army Southwest Divisional Headquarters, Phoenix Family Shelter Services to learn firsthand about the vital community resources available to families in need. From emergency assistance to the family shelter, these services play a crucial role in supporting those facing hardship. As future healthcare professionals, understanding the intersection of health and social services is essential to providing holistic care. This visit reinforced the importance of compassion, advocacy, and community partnerships in addressing social determinants of health.
