Thank you to the Fifth Avenue Snowflake Foundation for letting us be a part of your 40th Annual snowflake lighting ceremony in Manhattan! Our brass band got a chance to ring in the moment alongside a couple of incredibly talented vocalists, opera soprano Angel Blue and baritone Dylan Hughes. ?? We’re beyond grateful for our partnership with Fondation CMA CGM, which helped bring Thanksgiving to 500 families in Harlem! Each basket includes a turkey, stuffing, vegetables, and pantry staples to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal - enough to serve 36 individual meals per family. ???? ? With the support of CMA CGM, CEVA Logistics, and Port Liberty Terminals USA volunteers who organized, packed, and distributed the baskets, families can celebrate the season with a nutritious meal in the comfort of their homes. Together, we’ve provided over 18,000 meals to New Yorkers in need this Thanksgiving! ? We believe in the power of collaboration to uplift our communities. With dedicated partners like the CMA CGM Foundation, we’re working to ensure every New Yorker can enjoy the warmth and joy of the holiday season. ? We held a graduation ceremony for a handful of amazing families who have made significant strides in our Pathway of Hope program! ?? Every one of these individuals have worked hard with our staff to find jobs, secure long term housing, and advance legal statuses, all to provide a better life for their families moving forward. ?? The dedication that our POH staff and corps leaders have shown by their investment into each of these families is beautiful to see. We’re grateful that we get to provide sustainable programs for New Yorkers who need it the most! ??

Our staff members mobilize to Give Across North America?? Once again, CMA CGM, CEVA Logistics, APL, Fenix Marine Services and Port Liberty Terminals USA are joining us to make our Giving Across North America (#GANA) initiative a success! ?? This year, GANA embarks on an exciting new chapter as a year-long partnership with The Salvation Army to provide essential food assistance in five cities: Los Angeles, New York City, Miami, Norfolk, and Houston. Through this extended effort, we aim to deliver over 500,000 meals to communities in need. ?? From November 14 to 23, more than 150 dedicated staff members will launch GANA on the ground, distributing hot meals and Thanksgiving food parcels. Their commitment embodies our values—coming together to create a lasting, positive impact. It’s #WorldPianistDay and how could we not highlight the most incredible pianist in NYC, Lily! ?? One of our brightest music and arts instructors, she is a renowned musician, excelling in multiple instruments but a master at the piano. The lessons she's able to impart to youth in the GNY division is unmatched and we’re grateful to have her as part of our team. ?? She draws heavy inspiration from the works of Yuja Wang, Bach and her first piano teacher, Mrs. Ivy Jones, who influenced her as an instructor and performer. Thank you to Lily and the rest of the creative arts staff for not only imparting musical skills, but valuable life guidance through mentorship, to youth who take part in our daily programs! ??

The advisory board members, volunteers and donors who are a part of our Long Island family, are truly one of a kind. We honored some of these individuals at our annual Nassau County Appreciation Dinner. ? Whether you ring the bell at a red kettle, serve in one of our soup kitchens, help with youth programming, pack bags during food pantry hours, or donate towards our services, you're making a difference in the lives of struggling New Yorkers. Some of our GNY Emergency Services staff recently went to Georgia to assist with Hurricane Helene relief work in counties across the state. We provided food, water, hygiene supplies and spiritual care to residents who were impacted by the horrific storm. The individuals that our staff were able to connect with are courageous and their stories of resilience during this catastrophe are inspiring.
