Salty Britches?

The 1st in our new Video Series, Dr Charles Gaillard is a veteran, practicing physician and backwoods adrenaline junkie… Landing hot from a recent jump, landed him with major knee surgery. Always a skeptic but needing skin soothing relief and protection, he gave Salty Britches a try. Salty Britches is so much more than an anti-chafe. We LOVE this!!! We received a great letter from Andy Mathews (pictured) RD for A1 Ultra Events and The Long Haul Ultra. “I used to be young and fast, now I’m slow and old. I remember in 2016ish, I had to drop at mile 85 from the Vermont 100 due to chafing. At the time I was using a combo of Bag Balm and Vaseline. I was a mess. Here is a picture of me at the Space Pirate 100, now at age 63, and my slowest, by far, flat 100 mile run. I applied Salty Britches to all my parts at the start and reapplied at mile 50, that’s it. I was out there forever, and even considering the Florida heat, I did not chafe at all, not even a little. How do I know there was no chafing? Well, there is no hiding from or lying too the Atlantic Ocean, if you have chafing that water will let you know, and viola! No shrieks of pain, no irritation! Truett Hanes finished the Austin Marathon in 2:42:51 in BLUE JEANS, all while sporting that Salty Britches hat! Truett confirmed completely chafe free using Salty Britches. And it gets better… He did this one week after setting the Guinness World Record for 10,001 pull-ups in a 24 hour period. Incredible!!

A little behind the scenes of the Salty Britches life… We have found ourselves in the company of some of the toughest people with a mindset forged through tremendous difficulty. The Veteran Amputee community never ceases to amaze us. Not to mention, all of our Veteran friends are some salty people that don’t believe anything. They have got to test and try for themselves. The first time we met James Davenport, retired SF Medic, we knew he would be a tough nut to crack! It didn’t take long, after using SB, he contacted Amy directly. Today, North American Rescue filmed a video about James and his experiance with Salty Britches. He has taught us a lot about this space and the difference SB has made for him. He has a farm in MT and works cows, horses, and shovels more than his share of snow. He doesn’t sit still and thanks to daily Salty Britches use, he doesn’t have to. He told us today, “As an amputee, you get comfortable constantly being uncomfortable. You just learn to accept it is as good as it will get. There wasn’t a solution to the skin irritation that worked very well, until now.” That will put a lump in your throat. James has undergone around 112+ surgeries in 12 years of being an amputee. If we can make his life any more comfortable, that’s fuel to keep going! James is as reluctant a movie star as one can be, but because he believes in Salty Britches, he was up for it! James, thank you for your service to this country and your endorsement of Salty Britches!

This is just incredible! Our youngest Salty Ambassador (9 years old) Parker Stewart, who is coached by our first Ambassador, John Duberley, just beat the World Record for fastest 15k time for his age group. WORLD RECORD! He has 8 state records… he is nine!! He wants to become an Olympian and he is well on his way. He’s “TheSaltyBritchesKid” and we couldn’t be more excited for him! He is certainly one to watch! In addition to racing adults in triathlon and road races, he also races go-karts. He is so driven, without parental influence. You just know he is different!

Happy Veterans Day to those that have served this nation! We have been blessed to get to know many Veterans that have come along side Salty Britches. This video features our friend CSM Joey Blacksher who retired this year after 22 years. We adore this family and are so honored to know them. There are many stories of veterans that we have grown to love dearly through this work. They make us better as people and a brand. We often ask veterans that come on our podcast if they recommend young people volunteer for military service today. Most of the answers have been positive.
