SALT is big on data! Here is a data dump ?? In summary, SALT has served over 3,300 people this year so far with over 100,000 services and resources. This is helping to give our guests dignity and a fighting chance at ending their homelessness as shelters and housing programs are full. In some cases these services are helping our clients to survive while living outside. After services with SALT, over 200 of our guests have moved into housing, with the help of SALT and/or a partner’s case management team. It was an awesome event on Thursday night! If you didn’t hear, a group of amazing people organized a charity night golf and auction event to benefit SALT Outreach. Let’s Dream Big for 2025 ?? Starting today, SALT is launching its last fundraiser for the year: The Annual Dream Big Campaign. Every year since 2021, SALT launches the Dream Big Campaign to help us fund our dreams for the following year. We continue to dream bigger and bigger, and you have helped to fuel those dreams with your financial gifts. It leads to breaking records in serving our guests, and ultimately leading to housing more people. Our combined teams this year have helped to directly house 120 people which is over a 50% increase the previous year. We have served more people this year, with more services and resources, than we have ever done before. Between today and December 31st, we need your help to raise $200,000. There are people who recognize a need in their community and those who take action to help meet it. Eric Camarillo ’16 ’19MNM is one of them. The UCF School of Public Administration alum is the founder and director of downtown Orlando-based nonprofit SALT Outreach Inc. Through SALT, Camarillo and his team offer people who are experiencing homelessness a hand up by providing access to showers, laundry facilities, mail services, charging stations and more. SALT IS IN A NEW COUNTY! ???? Meet some of the Lake County team and the new trailer (just launched this weekend) which we are nicknaming “Miss Betty.” We also added her catchphrase - “Just Lovin on People!” Miss Betty was the initial person in Lake County who reached out, already serving the unsheltered in the area, who believed her guests needed a shower to progress toward ending their homelessness. That was three months ago. Fast forward to now: They raised about $75,000 in that time frame between a few churches and a lot of generous people ?? and have fully funded that shower trailer! Currently, they will be operating two days a week. The vision is to have a full operation in Lake County. Everyday, five days a week, we serve over 100 people a day at just our downtown location ?? almost everyday we encounter someone new. Our biggest increases are with seniors, youth & young adults, and with single moms. With no grant funding covering the direct services we provide, like showers and laundry at this location, they are 100% funded by your financial gifts. Services like showers, laundry, mail services, hygiene products, clothing, etc. give people a fighting chance toward ending their homelessness. They’re a gateway to getting people to see our case managers and counselors, and are the easiest way to build trust and rapport with our guests. Since August of 2020, over 1,700 people have transitioned into housing, after services with SALT ?? So many people commit on monthly basis to SALT. We are grateful for each of you ???? There are people giving as little as $5 a month, and others giving as much as $750 a month. The reality is, we need at least triple the amount of monthly givers that we have now, in order to maintain direct services for our guests. Will you become a monthly contributor today?
