It’s been incredible to witness Salt Lake County residents seizing new opportunities for skilled employment through the Pre-Apprenticeship Program despite the challenges life has thrown their way. Recently, 31 individuals graduated from the program, and we're excited to announce the start of our 5th and 6th cohorts with 38 new students! This program, in partnership with Utah Women In Trades, provides essential skills and support to help participants thrive. Did you know Chemicals or other hazardous conditions can contaminate some areas in Salt Lake County for years? By revitalizing these areas we can protect the environment and boost local economies! This year alone, we've spent nearly $200,000 to better understand contamination on 37 properties across our County! Salt Lake County's Economic Development division has used environmental assessment grants since 2008 to help our communities better understand how harmful chemicals might be impacting important sites in their area.
