WNC support trips and deployments. ahead of plan. We are thankful for the tremendous connections that have occurred in our efforts. It is simply awesome to see the “thousands of hands unite” as we continue to support our neighbors. Due to the support of the Printing Community Elite Print Finishing , CES Mail Communications, Inc. , Performance Print Services, LLC, Poole Printing Company, and our tremendous Vendor partners Lindenmeyr Munroe and I know I am forgetting many others from our wonderful The Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA) family of friends, we were able to take two truck loads of goods “up the mountain” to a number of locations across WNC. And huge thanks to the wonderful positive actions of our Salem One Team. A report from the latest crew, Ken Weyandt, Wayne Kinnamon , Michael Capps, Avery Singletary and Jonathan Dirusso! And Yes, goods are pouring into the area but they must keep making it deeper into Appalachia! We will keep going deeper. “The Disaster Relief mission continues with delivering needed supplies to Western North Carolina. Many drop zones have been saturated with the incredible support of many who have donated throughout the state and beyond. This week a group of 5 headed to the mountains to help where needed: This delivery was not without its challenges. While at our first site (Hospitality House in Boone) we were redirected to another site (Cornerstone Summit Church) to take goods deeper into the mountains of NC. Ken Weyandt was directed to take a load to Beech Valley Baptist Church in Elk Park, NC and Wayne Kinnamon travelled all the way to Newland, NC for his truckload. Jonathan Dirusso stayed back in Boone to help direct Avery Singletary as He pulled up with a full truck load (12 skids!). Only 2 skids were removed (as was the plan) and then they travelled on to Crumpler, NC to an abandoned warehouse that the National Guard was using for the Relief Effort. Michael Capps drove to Jimmy and Jeans in West Jefferson, NC to unload his truck. While in Crumpler, Avery and Jonathan were told by the National Guard that they were full and could not accept any more donations. Scrambling a bit we found another site in Lansing, NC that took all but one skid of supplies (water). Overall it was a successful day for the Relief Effort!
