On January 31, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting for Garten Services, Inc.'s DayBreak Program, which opened in a new facility located at 200 Hawthorne Avenue SE in December! Garten's DayBreak Program serves individuals with disabilities by providing a space where they can engage in enriching activities and build life skills. The new building features communal areas for activities and games, an exercise space, and more. At our monthly Business Advocacy Meeting last week (March 6), the business community heard presentations on two key ballot initiatives that voters will decide on during the upcoming May Election. Then, we heard from a panel representing the City of Salem about its Livability Levy proposal, which would fund Parks, Libraries, and Center 50+.
