Affordable Project of the Year:?Located in the heart of NE Portland’s Cully neighborhood and boasting an Earth Advantage Platinum certification, Las Adelitas is the outcome of a more-than-five-year community design process that transformed a former strip club site, known for illegal gambling and human trafficking, into a catalyst development of affordable housing and public plaza with deep community benefits. Built, designed, and developed by the team of Hacienda Community Development Corp. (CDC), Salazar Architect Inc., and LMC Construction. ?? Catalyst for Change: Centennial Place, an affordable housing community in SE Portland serving families at risk of homelessness and individuals experiencing serious mental health issues. The project applies the principles of trauma-informed design to shape a place that is responsive to resident needs.?Earth Advantage Platinum certified, the building is all-electric with a 75kW rooftop photovoltaic array designed to carry a significant percentage of the house load. Built, designed, and developed by the team of?Cascadia Health, Housing Development Center, Scott Edwards Architecture and Colas Construction. Kudos to these teams for their outstanding work!
