Walsh Construction is celebrating the milestone installation of the final girder for the I-270 Chain of Rocks eastbound bridge in St. Louis! This new structure is being built directly south of the existing Chain of Rocks Bridge, and is the first of the project's twin bridges to be built. The second will be constructed one on the same alignment as the existing bridge. Check out these construction numbers for the new eastbound structure: ? Number of girders = 298 ? Number of cross frames = 1,677 ? Number of laterals = 281 ? Number of bolts = 75,333 ? Total weight of eastbound bridge = 14,853,620 lbs. #WalshAtWork

Last week we had a retirement party for two of our production employees. Rich Moore has put in almost 38 years with SLSB. In those years, he has worked his way up to our Boltmaker Lead. Archie Whaley has been with SLSB for 46 years. In that time, he has worked his way up to the secondary lead. We are so lucky to have had so many years with these men. They have contributed so much to SLSB & we are so grateful! We are sad to see them go, but we are so happy for them & wish them the best of luck in retirement.

Last month we had 2 very special anniversaries. On the right, we have Xzandrea, our Administrative Clerk and Safety Lead in Atlanta. She celebrated one year with us! She has made such a positive impact on the Atlanta location and we look forward to watching her grow. On the left we have Demetric, our shipping manager in Atlanta. Demetric also just celebrated one year with us. He has been an amazing addition to the leadership team and the Atlanta location! We appreciate all of his work and cant wait for many more years with him on our team!
