Today is a great day in Sakuu history. Our Kavian Printing Platform was named by TIME as one of 2024’s Best Inventions. With the value of the battery supply chain expected to reach $410 billion by 2030, the industry needs innovation. My team has been dedicated to finding a better way to build batteries- one that’s more cost, space, and materials-efficient. Kavian is a technology that we’ve spent years developing. Dry-process printing is the new frontier for battery manufacturing: accommodating the battery chemistries of today AND tomorrow, eliminating need for toxic materials and solvents, reducing energy consumption by 30%, and scaling to support any size manufacturing facility. Most importantly, by employing print technology, manufacturers are able to build batteries using the size, shape, and specifications that fit their products, instead of building products that must accommodate the batteries of the past — leading to limitless innovation. New lithium battery technology is set to disrupt the current energy storage market- says BloombergNEF in a recent report that includes Sakuu. The report covers 61 battery startups with activities across anode, cathode, electrolyte, software, manufacturing process, cell and pack design, coating and additives, finding that innovative technologies like Sakuu's are poised to deliver the next generation of batteries.
