Four Saint Vincent Hospital employees recently traveled to Portugal, Spain and France for 10 days on a spiritual pilgrimage. The group traveled to Portugal, the site of the miracles at Fatima, followed by Burgos in Spain to view the ancient Cathedral. They then proceeded on to Lourdes in France where the miracles of healing still take place. Finally, they voyaged to historic Barcelona and the great Benedictine monastery on the mountain of Montserrat. According to Fr. Stephen Gemme, “It was really a great and spiritual experience and was a wonderful time of pilgrimage and rest.” ICU nurses Marianne Griffiths, RN and Beth Shea, RN, and physical therapist Lauren Maldonado joined Fr. Steve on the journey.

Our Radiology residents participated today in a statewide community outreach event in our Atrium to promote cancer screening awareness. The event was created by the Massachusetts Radiologic Society and is called Communities Crushing Cancer. Nice work in spreading educational information on Cancer to the public!

October 21-25, 2024 was celebrated as International Medical Graduate (IMG) week all over the country. Additionally, October 28, 2024 is celebrated annually as Internal Medicine Day to recognize the specialty of Internal Medicine and its subspecialties. The following video was created to celebrate both the specialty of Internal Medicine and its subspecialties as well as the diversity and competence that IMG physicians bring to Saint Vincent Hospital.
