Key lessons: ? Local #PowerControlSystems can defer or avoid onsite electrical and utility distribution upgrades thereby providing customers immediate #value by avoiding the cost and time for grid components -- especially while new domestic transformer and equipment supply capabilities ramp -- and before customers benefit from off-peak utility rates or revenue from ancillary services ?? Standardized, interoperable EV charging control systems that communicate seamlessly with networks, aggregators, and utilities are essential for #VirtualPowerPlants to not only achieve #Liftoff but velocity to escape "the Perpetual Pilot Playground" -- becoming accountable resources that deliver value to millions of EV drivers, spanning charging networks, and to ratepayers across multiple utility territories. ?? Customer centric approaches that are easy to operate and translate across use cases are essential as EV customers diversify in vehicle type, duty cycle, charging location, power capacity, and across the thousands of utilities -- raising the need for clear models to operate smart charging effectively. Do you have hundreds or thousands of stranded residential Enel X JuiceBoxes? Sagewell has a solution. Two key benefits for utility EV load management programs migrating from JuiceBoxes to Sagewell:? 1) current JuiceBox owners can continue using their chargers in a non-networked mode,? 2) transition takes less than 10 minutes for customers and is done entirely remotely #Sagewell was one of the first companies in 2016 to operate utility #EV load management programs using JuiceBox and ChargePoint Home chargers. By 2018, we had developed a better solution that does not require networked chargers or any hardware and migrated all EVs over to our program. We had nearly a 100% conversion rate. Now, six years later, we routinely enroll 50% of Level 2 charging vehicles in utility programs, and less than 2% of EVs charge during system peak hours.
