Peaches came to us as a referral from our friends at Vet Medical Center of Santa Rosa. Peaches was diagnosed with a closed Pyometra and prescribed antibiotics. Her loving owner wanted to get her emergency spay but couldn’t afford the full cost. ?? Thankfully, she knew about the Sage Grant Fund ( SAGE Compassion for Animals ) and had already applied before reaching out to our Community Vet Clinic. The amazing folks at Sage quickly approved her application, making her surgery possible! ???? Thanks to their support and the skilled care at CVC, Peaches’ surgery was a success! She’s now on the mend, slowly regaining her appetite, taking her meds (with a little chicken bribery ??), and as her mother says "enjoying her favorite "activity" - sunbathing in the back yard ??" A huge shoutout to Sage and everyone who made this happy ending possible! The CVC is celebrating its 6th year anniversary this month! We are thrilled to introduce you to our new board member Melissa Hollatz, Melissa is currently a continuing fellow at Stanford University's Distinguished Career Institute (DCI) program. She served as a partner at the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati for over 25 years. She practiced corporate and securities law with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and a focus on public and private company corporate governance. Melissa has both a BA and a JD from Stanford University. Melissa is deeply invested in pro bono work. She co-chaired the firm's pro bono committee for almost a decade. She currently sits on the boards of The Law Foundation of Silicon Valley and Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence in addition to Sage Compassion for Animals. She has a border collie mix named Bruno who is a bit much, two cats, and two horses, all of whom are better than she deserves.
