????We are thrilled to announce that Project Linus Fort Wayne/Northeast Indiana is now located inside of The Salvation Army of Allen County!???? These folks are made up of amazing volunteers that make blankets for area children. They even supplied some for out Angel Tree programm last year! “First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers". Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.” Welcome home, Project Linus!

Words cannot express our appreciation for the collaborative efforts of MHE, Three Rivers Commercial Moving and Installations (Jeremiah Curry), and Advisory Board Member, Kim Murphy. This electric pallet jack will massively decrease the Salvation Army's workload as we move food pantry pallets each day. God Bless each of you.

Being an emergency food pantry, our hope is to help relieve situations of distress and hunger. What people may not know is that we also try and give additional items during this time. We pass out limited quantities of hygiene items, diapers, pads, incontinence items, tampons, toothbrushes, deodorant, etc as it becomes available to us. Just one of the many ways we strive to continue #DoingTheMostGood

During Adopt a Family (at Christmas) we had a specific family that was adopted. Single mama, going through a rough patch. We matched the family with a local company so they could start shopping. Mom came to pick up her gifts and was so very appreciative. She explained how it had been a rough time for her family and began to write her thank you card to the donor. Mom took her time and wrote a beautiful thank you card describing her situation and thankfulness. Fast forward to February... The business reached out and let us know that they had received her card and wanted to do MORE. They were so touched by her card and felt led to contribute again. I called mom and said guess what?! The business that adopted you would like to know what other items you may need. "My food stamp card was recently hacked and I have no money for groceries for my kids". Amen

Want to see your donation go further? March 1st is the Meijer Simply Give Campaign at the Dupont Road Meijer! If you purchase a $10 Simply Give card at this store, they will double match and make it $30! All proceeds will be turned into "food only" gift cards and will be used to purchase fresh produce for our weekly food pantry! Fresh produce is not something that we see a lot of. These food cards provide options for families that are fresh, healthy, and very appreciated! Thank you, Meijer

Our "Booth Bags" (named after the founder of The Salvation Army, William Booth) have been such a blessing to so many of our homeless and individuals who are walkers, riding a bus, or bicycle. Many do not have the luxury of taking a cart full of food and packing it into a car and a stove to cook with. Booth Bags are filled with ready-to-eat snacks and drinks in lieu of taking groceries from our food pantry, that they cannot use. If you'd like to contribute to our Booth Bags, there are many things that we could use. -gallon-sized zip lock bags -small snacks (snack bars, fruit snacks, jerky, trail mix, pop-top soup, etc) -hand warmers -protein drinks Huge thanks to those who have been stopping into assemble these bags and donate items to fill them. Items may be shipped or dropped off at 2901 N Clinton Street Fort Wayne, IN 46805 Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00pm. If you'd like to make a monetary donation, please visit safortwayne.org.
