To help prevent ladder-related injuries and improve your team's ladder use safety, here's a two-page PDF to use at worksites as a stand-down meeting resource. https://ow.ly/5Ngh50VfC95 #LadderSafety #LadderSafetyMonth

Ladder use may seem simple, but the improper use and maintenance of ladders can lead to significant injuries and death. In 2023, ladder citations ranked third in the OSHA Top 10. Be sure to prevent ladder incidents and avoid citations using these best practices: Setup: Ensure a stable surface and a proper angle (it should be 4 to 1), and use A-frame ladders in place of extension ladders. Use: Maintain 3 points of contact, do not face the ladder, and do not stand on the top 2 steps of an A-frame ladder. Inspection: Inspect ladders before use and ensure there are legible rating labels; damaged ladders or those with missing rating labels must be removed from service. Training: Employees must be trained on proper ladder inspections and use before stepping a foot onto any ladder.

Please take a moment to listen to this episode produced by Juneau Construction Company. The insights from Nancy Juneau and Oriel S. on mentorship and speaking up were especially poignant as we help young women to navigate careers where they may not readily see reflections of themselves in roles they are pursuing.?Sending a special thanks to Yomi, Oluwayomi Adeyemo, for coordinating and hosting this episode.?He did an excellent job facilitating our discussion on this topic of great importance. I appreciated the opportunity to be part of this conversation and help raise awareness for #WomenInConstructionWeek2025. https://lnkd.in/e-5wQ4gX

We are pleased to feature Callie Manley of Safety Consultants USA to help raise awareness of women who work in the construction industry as we celebrate #WomenInConstructionWeek2025. To encourage other women to explore careers and jobs in construction, Callie shared, "Because the workplace is ever-changing and evolving and each work site is different, women in construction provide valuable perspectives and skills, such as problem-solving, effective communication, and attention to detail." After 12 years in various safety roles, Callie serves the construction industry as a senior safety consultant. Before starting college, she was a “hole watch” for hazardous atmospheres on a large-scale construction site. For three summers while attending college, she worked as a confined space entry supervisor and was responsible for general site safety. This experience and her other professional accomplishments in construction and safety make Callie uniquely qualified to help clients protect their employees and create a healthy and safe work environment. We are pleased to feature Maryna H. of Rainwater Construction Company to help raise awareness and celebrate #WomenInConstructionWeek2025. After working on the design side since 2004 and directly in construction since 2021, Maryna believes that women are often taken more seriously in project management roles than in operations roles like supers and field engineers. She encourages raising awareness about women's contributions to the construction industry and giving credit to women for their field experience. Maryna added, "We've been lucky to hire some incredibly talented women, and sometimes, being around our team, I forget that women are still a small percentage of the construction workforce. Some of my proudest moments as a leader with Rainwater Construction Company are observing our female talent's personal and professional growth, seeing them implement what we teach them, and watching their faces light up when they succeed." We are pleased to feature Veronica Harman of SouthEast Scanning & Cutting Services to help raise awareness and celebrate #WomenInConstructionWeek. After 11 years in construction, Veronica offers this insight to help raise awareness and encourage women to pursue careers in construction: "Just because construction work requires 'hands-on equipment' and is often dirty and done in hot/cold environments, it doesn't mean women don't want or can't do the work. With experience, education, and training, there are opportunities for women in construction such as Inspectors, Estimators, Project Managers, and Superintendents." Her proudest moment in construction? Two of her daughters have started careers in the construction industry! Learn more here: https://wicweek.org/
