Paramedic Cory Hudson and EMT Jacob Parrott were nominated as the latest SMS Standouts by Operations Supervisor Steven Harvey. Cory and Jacob responded to transport a patient for one of our partner hospitals in our West Texas service area when a call came to the hospital that they had two critical patients coming. Instead of loading up the patient they were called to transport and taking off, Cory and Jacob stayed to offer the small community hospital some help. They ended up taking charge of one of the patients and were able to get them stabilized for flight teams to come and transport both of the patients to a trauma hospital. "We received an email from the chief nursing officer of the hospital who said she received praise from the nurses, doctors, local EMS crews, and the flight service about the job well done by Cory and Jacob. She was very impressed with how everyone came together as one team for these patients. I want to thank Cory and Jacob for the teamwork they demonstrated and the value they add to our team!" Steven said.

Remote Paramedic Javier Estrada was nominated as the latest SMS Standout by Field Support Supervisor Scott Henry. "We received a call for a last minute job in Texas for a client. I called Javier, and he agreed to fill in until another medic could replace him," Scott said. Javier was nominated for having integrity in everything he does, owning it every day and being a team player.

Paramedic Stacey Coffman was nominated as the latest SMS Standout by Field Support Supervisor Scott Henry. "I want to recognize Stacey for being a team player. Stacey had volunteered to go offshore as needed during his time off. Later, I received a call from another SMS paramedic who had a family emergency. I contacted Stacey and he agreed to pack up and go out the next morning, then come in and roll into his normal hitch. Thank you, Stacey, for helping a fellow SMS paramedic in their time of need as well as keeping our client consistent with paramedics on their assets," Scott said.
