From December 10th to 13th, the Portuguese cities of Evora and Sines will host the NEXUS International Conference on the topic of "Digital and #GreenTransition in Maritime ports: Trends and Challenges". ?? This event will bring together scientists and experts to discuss the latest trends and processes in the areas of #DigitalLogistics and #SustainableMobility in seaports. The city of Sines will host the conference on December 12th and 13th, with the participation of SaferSEA partner Sines Tecnopolo

Project partners Technop?le Brest-Iroise and CEEI Bahía de Cádiz attended the event. We were also invited to take part in the discussions with Ismael Morán García, Director of the Interreg Atlantic Area Joint Secretariat, on the post-2027 and our challenges and perspectives as project beneficiaries. ?? This led to a listing of 260+ (and counting) actors and facilities in Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal that actively contribute to a safer and cleaner Atlantic Ocean. (Oct. 15-17, 2024 in Brest, FR), SaferSEA partner Cedre will lead a workshop on "Ammonia as a maritime fuel: bridging knowledge gaps for a safe and green future": "The #decarbonization of maritime transport has led to the emergence of propulsion technologies aimed at replacing traditional fuels. Ammonia is one of the candidates for powering ships without emitting greenhouse gases, thus having a lower impact on the #environment. Due to limited knowledge of how liquid ammonia behaves when spilled in water, our understanding of the consequences of accidental releases in ports or open seas remains incomplete. This workshop aims to enhance our understanding of the challenges associated with replacing traditional fuels with liquefied ammonia and how the maritime sector is preparing to address them." ??
