Even rigs equipped with another MPD system are being converted to operate with Safe-MPD as it is a safer and more efficient MPD system. Safe-MPD: In the beginning of a training session to the rig crew of a recently retro-fitted rig with Safe-MPD, the operator representative said the rig crew needs to learn to trust the system they will have on board the rig. It is very accurate and with several unique features, which allowed the operator to drill very challenging wells with another rig they used equipped with Safe-MPD, not possible with any other MPD system they have used before. Training: SafeKick provided customized trainings in Brazil and US covering MPD, FMCD and PMCD. The classes in Brazil used the SafeVision Training Simulator, including the latest Rig Version, which the students use the software to open/close the valves, align the flow path, and reproduces with great reality the rig environment, including all PMCD challenging simulation scenarios. SafeGuard: our Digital Pressure Testing solution has been installed on a second rig for final validation. Several unique features and integration with Safe-MPD, when installed on the rig, is providing a much more comprehensive and safer package to ensure integrity and reliability of all equipment on the rig. ?

SafeKick: 15 Years of Technology Evolution with Empowered Solutions Last month, SafeKick marked its 15th anniversary, celebrating a journey of continuous technological advancement. We hosted a special event at our Katy office, welcoming both in-person and remote clients. Starting with SafeVision and the Intelli-Choke for well control in 2012, we’ve continued to push boundaries in MPD (Managed Pressure Drilling). From the first APOD installation in Alaska (2014) to the introduction of Safe-MPD in 2015, we’ve focused on enhancing model accuracy and automating processes to reduce the workload of everyone involved in the MPD operation, especially the driller. Today, SafeVision’s precision and Safe-MPD’s automation empower rig teams to focus on process control rather than manual interventions, allowing the driller to keep the well under control at all times, with and without MPD operation. And the technology evolution continues. We're working on multiple new solutions to enhance safety and operational efficiency, intended to fill important gaps identified by our clients. One is already installed on one rig, another is moving from R&D to production, and a third is showing promising R&D results. Our innovative Safe-Training simulator, integrated with SafeVision, is helping both our team and clients drive Continuous Competence Improvement. To cap off the celebration, SafeKick surpassed 45 years (16,582 days) of cumulative MPD operational days. With operators now using Safe-MPD to boost efficiency, not just handle complex sections, we’re excited to work on 3 additional drillships ?being retro-fitted with Safe-MPD, all of them to be delivered by March 2025. One operator using Safe-MPD asked SafeKick to provide the engineering for another MPD activity they have with a third party MPD provider, as they trust SafeVision simulation results and our engineering work. SafeVision continues to be used to plan all the wells using SafeKick MPD operations, onshore and offshore. A few highlights on how Safe-MPD helped operators on different scenarios: -???????The first section below the BOP was drilled without MPD and the casing had to be set shallower than planned due to several wellbore issues. Safe-MPD was used in the subsequent section, longer and with narrower margin than intended, drilled to the original casing point and the cement job was successful using Managed Pressure Cement. No need for cement remediation job and contingency liner in the well. The operator is now planning on using Safe-MPD from top to bottom, after the BOP is in place -???????One operator was very concerned with a side-track to be drilled on a very promising prospect. The operation was planned with SafeVision as usual and drilled with Safe-MPD. In the end it was all business as usual, no surprises and issues in the well - One operator is now using SafeVision to monitor cement plug operations for P&A. With the mud pump Coriolis meters and the unique SafeVision fluid tracking feature the operation is done without the usual uncertainties when SafeVision is not used - One operator using Safe-MPD and SafeVision extensively for more than 6 years conducted a HazOp on several aspects and one of the conclusions of the HazOp was to recommend using SafeVision for ALL operations in the well, including all the ones NOT using the RCD -???????More than one operator confirmed they could have not drilled the well to TD without Safe-MPD. More and more operators are using MPD to ensure the well will reach the objectives as well as requesting the rigs to be equipped with Safe-MPD

SafeKick completes upgrade of LSU’s PERTT MPD and Well Control software and equipment ? SafeKick has just completed the upgrade of the LSU’s PERTT lab MPD and Well Control equipment, bringing the original equipment installed in 2018 on par to the most advanced deepwater rigs currently in operation. While the original installation consisted of an Intelli-Choke, a flow out meter and simplified controls, the upgrade added a lot of equipment and capabilities: 1 Coriolis flow meter on the injection side 2 new dedicated pressure sensors (SBP and SPP) 1 new control box with the newest Siemens components (including 1500 PLCs, etc.) Upgraded server rack with new server, switch, firewall and support PC Software upgrade, including: PERTT lab P&ID MPD Control Modes (Position, SBP, SPP, Pressure at Depth, Flow, Dynamic Step Up & Down control modes) Well Control Modes (Choke, and SPP Modes) 1 Combo and 1 SafeVision HMIs In addition to SafeKick, long-term business partners participated in the original installation and in this upgrade with donation: MicroMotion (Emerson), CORTEC, Siemens, AWC, Inc., Kelligent, Womack Machine Supply and IECUS Solutions. ?
