SafeBAE is a survivor-founded, teen-led organization working to educate middle and high-school students about healthy relationships, dating violence and sexual assault prevention, affirmative consent, safe bystander intervention, survivor self-care, and survivor rights under Title IX. As the only national peer-to-peer organization of our kind, we help promote culture change by giving teens the tools to change peer behavior, end harassing re-victimization, become activists in their own communities, and spark legislative change both locally and nationally.

For the third year, Childhood USA supported SafeBAE’s Summer Activist Institute in Maine, where 20 high school students from all over the country learned from top educators about stopping sexual violence. During this transformative three-day session, these amazing teenagers showed incredible dedication and growth. They are now returning to their communities with the knowledge and tools to address sexual violence prevention and response. Whether they are starting clubs that promote healthy relationships and boundaries, mentoring younger kids, or meeting with legislators, we applaud these young activists who are leading the way in the response to / prevention of CSAE! Over the summer, I attended the SafeBae Summer Activist Institute. At this institute, I learned from multiple top-notch educators about stopping sexual violence. I'm currently using the information I learned from SafeBae to stop sexual harassment in my environment. For example, at my school, I plan on hanging posters and giving presentations on ways to end sexual violence to build a safer environment. This was truly an experience I'll never forget. I want to give my mentor, Reid Pinckard, a special thank you! Along with my contributors that made this possible. Once again, thank you!
