This groundbreaking initiative aims to create a more balanced, fair, and humane approach to migration across the continent. ???? What is it about? The pact seeks to reform the existing migration system by introducing shared responsibilities between EU member states, providing faster asylum processes, and ensuring greater solidarity with countries facing high migratory pressures. It also focuses on strengthening Europe’s external borders while maintaining respect for human rights and international protections for refugees. The "National Guardianship System" under the “Programme Greece – Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027” ensures the protection and best interests of unaccompanied minors (UAMs) in Greece. This initiative involves government and NGO partnerships to provide systematic guardianship services. ? The programme establishes over 150 trained Guardianship Officers and 12 Guardianship Coordinators. Each guardian manages up to 15 minors, covering both current and new arrivals, ensuring comprehensive guardianship. ?? Situations of forced displacement and statelessness can have a lifelong, devastating impact on the lives and development of children. ? ?? Conflict and persecution expose children and their families to violence, abuse and exploitation and cause families and children to flee. ?? As a result, forcibly displaced and stateless children face a wide range of child protection risks which include diverse forms of violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect. ? ?? The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration in Spain, Elma Saiz,?announced?that over the next 6 months the government will carry out a previously announced legislation reform that aims to?support migrants in bureaucratic procedures and reduce the related administrative stockpile. ? The same regulation was previously amended in 2021 to better protect unaccompanied migrant minors, giving them the possibility of accessing the system and guaranteeing that their rights are upheld.? ? The main objective of this reform is to diminish the large variety of permits currently available for migrants in Spain, creating instead fewer, simpler, more comprehensive permit types.?Modifications under this latest legislative amendment?aim to?"accompany and assist in procedures", "alleviate administrative burdens" and "facilitate, within the parameters", a migration that is "regular, orderly, safe and with human rights at the centre".?? ? ??
