Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is the first hospital in the city to use revolutionary heart-imaging technology that will allow the evaluation of heart disease without the need for an invasive procedure. The new cardiac positron emission tomography (PET) technology provides heart doctors with a more precise way to detect the risk of heart attacks and enables them to better determine which blood vessel is at risk and whether a patient’s condition requires surgical intervention. Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is a leader in heart care and has been named one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cardiovascular care by PINC AI and Fortune seven times. This new technology furthers patient care and experience.?

Congratulations to the Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola care teams, which earned an 'A' fall 2024 Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization that grades nearly 3,000 general hospitals throughout the United States. This is the hospital's eighth consecutive 'A' over the last four years. Sacred Heart is the only hospital in Pensacola that earned an 'A' during this scoring period. Nationwide, fewer than 30% of hospitals achieved a fall 2024 'A.' In Florida, only 71 hospitals achieved this score. Kudos on a well-earned honor that demonstrates your commitment to patient safety!
