The mission of the Sacramento SPCA is to foster a loving and compassionate community for animals and people by providing assistance, creating lifelong relationships, and saving lives. Since 1892, we’ve worked to reduce pet overpopulation through affordable spay/neuter services, promote the humane treatment of animals through education and outreach, and assist pet owners through a variety of programs and services designed to keep pets and their families together for life. As an independent non-profit organization it receives no government funding and relies on private donations from the local community to care for the more than 5,500 animals that come to the shelter each year. Services offered in addition to pet adoptions: - Animal behavior helpline - Dog training - Humane education programs and summer camps for youth - Affordable, high quality spay/neuter clinic - Programs for seniors - Vaccine, licensing, microchip and wellness clinics - Volunteer opportunities

We had a "Totally Pawesome" night at the Sacramento SPCA 80's Prom! The crowd was totally tubular and dressed up to raise funds for our furry friends! Team River City Bank was on hand and happy to be a sponsor and raise a paddle. Sarah Haney, CFRE kicked off the program, with emcee Courtney Dempsey, Anchor from Good Day Sacramento and auctioneer extraordinaire Keith McLane for a "Night to Remember". We also met the new CEO Jennifer Brent and welcomed her to this top-notch team! The funds raised from auction and fund-a-need provide support for necessary extraordinary medical care and procedures for the animals, and allows the organization to say YES to helping these fur babies to live full and happy lives. #rcbcares #communitybanking #furbabies

Special announcement!! The Sacramento SPCA is thrilled to welcome Jennifer Brent as our new Chief Executive Officer! Jennifer joined our team this week and brings more than 16 years of nonprofit and animal welfare leadership experience to the organization. She served the past 8 years as Executive Director of The California Wildlife Center, has held executive leadership roles at two private foundations supporting the needs of companion animals through spay/neuter and adoption, and served as a city animal care and control commissioner. We look forward to Jennifer learning more about the needs of animals and the people who love them in Sacramento and guiding us into the next chapter of lifesaving work in our community!
