?? Today is Native American Equal Pay Day, a day to acknowledge the significant pay gap that Native American women face. On average, Native women working full-time, year-round make only 58 cents for every dollar earned by non-Hispanic, white men. This gap widens when we consider all Native women earners, who make only 52 cents on the dollar, one of the largest wage disparities in the U.S. For some Tribal nations, the gap is even wider, compounding economic hardship across generations and diminishing economic security for Native families. What can we do? 1?? Raise Awareness: Discuss these disparities and help bring attention to the issue, as awareness is the first step toward change. 2?? Support Fair Pay Policies: Advocate for and support policies and organizations fighting for equal pay and economic justice for Native women. 3?? Invest in Resources & Training: Encourage access to education, skills training, and resources that support economic advancement for Native women. Let's work together to close the pay gap for Native women and create a future where everyone’s work is equally valued. #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth #SACNAS
